Japan's Aluminum Premium Price Trend In The First Quarter Of 2019

International aluminum producers offer Japanese buyers an aluminum premium of $91/ton. Foreign media reported on November 28, two sources said on Wednesday that an international aluminum producer has reported to Japanese buyers that the aluminum premium of 91 US dollars / ton in January-March next year, down 12% from the current quarter. Japan is Asia's largest aluminum importer, and the country's quarterly premium to the London Metal Exchange (LME) spot aluminum price agreed to pay for primary aluminum imports is used as the price benchmark for the region. In the October-December quarter, Japanese buyers agreed to pay $103/ton of water, down 22% from the previous month, and the Asian spot aluminum premium fell due to sufficient supply.
